Why “artichoke”?

When I was growing up, summertime meant enjoying artichokes with my family outside in the sunshine. I loved peeling off the leaves, experiencing the unique flavor and texture of each one. There was often more to nibble on than I initially thought! It was a happy and connected time. It was a time to listen and to share.

I love the artichoke as a metaphor for evaluation, which is both a journey and a destination. The learning that happens along the way is just as important as the final result. The leaves are the data that can tell the nuanced story of your work. Together, we peel back the layers, make meaning of what we find, and generate the trustworthy, rigorous evidence you need to guide your decisions and celebrate your success.
